In Monduli, Tanzania, a commercial vegetable farming project is transforming lives through innovative drip irrigation techniques. Launched in November 2023 with funding from the GMW Team in Germany, the initiative empowers 20 widows from the Juhudi Women Group to generate income while tackling climate challenges by using minimal water to grow crops.
Jointly implemented by WODF and the Arusha-based organization PIWOYOT, the project’s impact extends far beyond the participants. These 20 widows are supporting approximately 140 dependents, while 1,000 local schoolchildren are gaining valuable lessons in sustainable farming techniques. This initiative is a powerful example of how economic empowerment and climate resilience can go hand in hand, driving change not only for individuals but for the entire community. With your support, this progress can continue to flourish.
